Australian Idol - American Hits Night - Wes Carr - When You Were Young

The two songs that Wes Carr chose for tonight were What A Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong and When You Were Young by The Killers. He said "I instantly get nostalgic when listening to this song. As a kid, I suffered from bad nightmares, and this song used to settle me down". Chris Isaak said "I think you picked the right song. Just rehearse it the way you want to do it".

Dicko said "It's such an intense song; I was concerned that you wouldn't find the space for the narrative in its truncated form. Will we see a superstar at the end of this Australian Idol? Yes we can!"

Marcia said "That was wonderful. I like how you throw yourself into your performance. It's great that you listened to Chris Isaak. He can teach you lots".

Chris Isaak said "I'm going to take any credit I can latch onto. When you come to L.A., I'm going to hook you up with the guy who produced the Killers. We'll do lunch".

Kyle said "Last week you were like a white Michael Jackson... well, you were just like Michael Jackson. And I know you're all stressed about being the judges favourite, but you are what you are. Just suck it in, that was perfect".
